Information literacy in first year

Bill Johnston, Senior Lecturer and Assistant Director of the Centre for Academic Practice and Learning Enhancement at the University of Strathclyde , Scotland (and my co-researcher/writer) was in Australia a couple of months ago for various invited presentations/keynotes. One of Bill's key areas of research/expertise is the First Year Experience (FYE), and he often highlights the role of information literacy in the FYE. His visit to the University of Southern Queensland is documented at http://www.usq.edu.au/learnteach/learnres/vsarchive/bjohnston.htm
It includes a section in which "Bill speaks on embedding information literacy skills into first year courses and using assessment to engage students"
