A one day conference
Up Close and Personal: our changing roles in a digital learning age is held in Ormskirk, Uk, on 5 September 2008. The conference is organized by NoWAL (North West Academic Libraries) Cost is: NoWAL Members: £50; Others: £75. Keynote speakers are Tara Brabazon, Alison Mackenzie and Margaret Weaver. "The conference aims to explore the following strands in the context of role change and working differently: Innovative partnerships and relationships that are emerging to enhance e-learning support and experiences; The changing way that staff engage with their users for example via social software, web services, personalized learning, Library 2.0 and the implications for practice; New roles and skills emerging as a result of the implementation of technologies in the physical, and/or virtual learning environment; Skills development of our users in a digital world and the impact on our ways of working" More info at
